Overview
HomeTeam ("we," "us," or "our") operates the HomeTeam mobile application and the website at findyourhometeam.com (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you use our Service. By using HomeTeam, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Email address — when you join our waitlist or create an account.
- Account credentials — email address and password used to sign in.
- Child profile information — your child's first name, age or birth year, skill level, playing goals, and budget range. This information is entered by you, as a parent or guardian, on behalf of your child.
- Messages — communications you send to youth sports clubs through the in-app messaging feature.
- Club inquiry details — if you contact a club, we may pre-fill relevant profile information to facilitate the inquiry.
Information collected automatically
- Location — approximate geographic location (zip code level) to identify clubs near you. We request your permission before accessing location on your device.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Match your child with suitable local youth sports clubs based on age, skill, goals, and budget.
- Send you launch announcements, waitlist updates, and important Service notifications.
- Facilitate communication between you and clubs you express interest in.
- Respond to your questions and support requests.
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
We do not use your information for automated profiling or decision-making beyond matching your child with clubs based on criteria you provide.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers — We share information with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service:
- Supabase (supabase.com) — cloud database and authentication infrastructure. Your account data and child profiles are stored on Supabase's servers.
- Google — location services via the Google Maps Geocoding API (mobile app), used to convert addresses to coordinates for proximity matching. We also load web fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com); when these fonts load, your browser sends your IP address to Google's servers. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- EmailJS — transactional email delivery service used to send notifications.
All service providers are required to protect your information consistent with this policy and are prohibited from using it for their own marketing purposes.
Clubs — When you initiate contact with a club through the app, we share the relevant portions of your child's profile (e.g., age, skill level, goals) with that specific club so they can respond meaningfully. We only share this information with clubs you explicitly reach out to.
Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Business transfers — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Children's Privacy
HomeTeam is designed for use by parents and guardians — not directly by children. You, as a parent or guardian, create and manage your own account and may add profile information about your child (such as name, age, and sports interests) to facilitate club matching.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently received personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, please contact us at hello@findyourhometeam.com and we will promptly delete it.
Child profile data entered by parents is used solely to power club matching and is not shared with third parties except as described in Section 3.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted data storage and secure database access controls (via Supabase)
- Encrypted data transmission using TLS/HTTPS
- Row-level security policies that restrict data access to authorized users
- Hashed password storage — we never store passwords in plain text
No method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
6. Your Rights
All users
- Access — You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — You may update or correct your information at any time through the app or by contacting us.
- Deletion — You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
- Unsubscribe — You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- The right to know the categories of personal information we collect and the purposes for which it is used.
- The right to delete personal information we have collected from you (subject to certain exceptions).
- The right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising).
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising any of the above rights.

7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information except where retention is required by law.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Club websites and other third-party sites linked from the Service have their own privacy policies; we are not responsible for their practices.
